Meet the Tacoma SCUBA Staff
Below you will find all the information the staff wants you to know. We would much prefer you come down to the shop, drink coffee, and get the stories straight from the source. If you make us write them down it is much harder to exaggerate, besides once it is in writing it gets rid of our deniability. In no particular order…. (Notice Kalen is first.)
Kalen Hill
Kalen seems to be the person in charge of everything. Not too sure how that happened but it did. Lately, she has been taking care of drysuit repairs, cylinder filling, invoicing, advertising, merchandising, bathroom cleaning, rentals, answering email, taking phone messages, and putting up with Joshua.

Joshua Hill
Joshua holds all the extra titles. Basically, however, with all that Kalen does, that isn’t much. Mostly Joshua just eggs on the conspiracy theorists when they visit. However, he can usually concentrate on diving just long enough to answer a question.

Heidi Kirk – Instructor
Heidi takes on the monumental task of training pedestrians to be divers. This takes courage, patience, patience, and more patience.

Allen Raphael – Assistant Instructor
Allen is the official “Problem Solver”. Does a student need extra practice? Allen. Need a local dive orientation? Allen. Lost your keys underwater and only have an old pair of sunglasses and half an Arby sandwich to offer? Allen.

Tarin Todd – Assistant Instructor
Tarin is Tacoma SCUBA’s official Tall Guy. It’s kind of like the TV show from the ’80s starring Lee Majors but with fewer stunts, less bounty hunting, way less Lee Majors, and more reaching things on high shelves. We’ll let him keep the theme song though… ♬I might fall from a tall building, I might roll a brand new car, ‘Cos I’m the unknown stuntman, That made Redford such a star.♫

Stena Troyer – Dive Master
Director of Fun, Dryerase Board Artist, CSMMMO (Chief Social media mischief and mayhem Officer), Head Wildlife Identifier, and Low Tide Beach Walker. If you find a cool unknown creature, Stena is the one to see (just please don’t bring the creature to the shop). She also is the responsible party if you don’t like one of our social media posts. If you love one, Joshua will probably claim that it was his idea.
